We Exist to End Childhood Obesity and We Need Your Help

The Faces of HOPE of Virginia is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides needed financial and support services to serve the mission of HOPE for Obesity. 

The reality is, insurance reimbursement simply does not cover the cost to provide the services that children need to make positive strides to reduce obesity. That is where Faces of HOPE comes in. Our non-profit helps to offset the costs for services so we can maintain our mission of ending childhood obesity. 

18.5 percent of children and adolescents are obese—13.7 million children in the U.S. And those numbers are getting higher every day. Which is why we need your support. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of children and adolescents has more than tripled since the 1970’s. It is estimated that nearly 93 million Americans are obese—a number predicted to climb to 120 million in the next five years. 

The pandemic has had a devastating toll on our children’s health. A Richmond Times-Dispatch news article called attention to the mental health crisis impacting Black and Latino kids. We have seen an increase in emotional eating and difficulty using coping skills for anxiety and emotions in kids.
